Despite the arrival of five new housemates who were being filtered into the main residence one by one for short periods tonight you’d be surprised at how little impact they seemed to have on the house as a whole when it came to checking out the edited highlights.

David was in first and caught Gerry’s eye for the simple reason he ticked all the boxes that met his requirements for a potential partner. Only trouble was he was straight, although you could fair see Gerry’s hopes that he could perhaps make him see how green the grass was on his side of the fence (apparently David has dabbled sexually so nothing is out of the equation). There was however one housemate who didn’t take a liking to the new potential housemate and that was Brian, was it down to the fact that David and Gerry have similar interests or could it be Brian felt he was ignored when he was in the new boy’s presence.

Amy made a bigger impression if only for her glamour model status and her obvious assets. Quite clearly a male choice for inclusion especially by newly appointed alpha male Liam (Ziggy was being kept at arms length from anything with a pulse by an over jealous Channelle). She did however come across as something of a bitch as she gave the housemates prior knowledge of Jonty. More about that shortly, however the way it’s looking so far, she could be a hot favourite to enter the house.

Jonty proved to have an immediately annoying streak as he speaks vociferously through his stuffed animals and quite frankly talks out of his arse. We already know he has no interest in sex but some interest in spanking and that he is quite articulate and intelligent when he is not being…shall we say eccentric. Tracey took to him like oil to water and proclaimed him a fake while Gerry once again found himself endeared to the character, the rest of the house simply looked bemused, especially when he showed how quickly he got pissed (one glass of wine more or less). He’s annoying but he could be entertaining if only in a surreal fashion.

Elsewhere the Chiggy combination was showing signs of cracking at the seams. Ziggy was showing signs of disliking some of Channelle’s character traits (she is becoming a boiler of bunnies in some respects). By the end of the night it was love on the rocks, with Ziggy actually using the line “Its not you, its me” much to her horror. When she complained about the use of such a line it was readdressed as “Ok then, its you!” which was frankly spineless yet priceless. This prompted the slow build to Channelle’s “will she won’t you departure” story, more of which will be covered tomorrow. Return as Big Brother faces another walker, and this time…it looks like it might just happen.
