You know something?

There was a definite sea change in the atmosphere in the house over the last day or so. Cut away the crabbier elements and you got (at least on the surface) and atmosphere of harmony and good natured high jinks. Everyone seemed happy and involved in the past times of playing in the garden and sunbathing. A corner had been turned and all was well with the world…

Or was it?

Gerry seems to have an emotionally highly strung plateau illustrated tonight when he threw the biggest hissy fit over a football. Well, one specific football actually. It had a map on it which is he was going to use to teach the twins geography with. At that point in time the twins were showing no signs of wanting to learn anything at all. The only place that ball was going though was over the wall, because Ziggy kicked it a little bit too hard…by accident.

There was also a slight altercation between Liam and Carole that blew up out of nowhere when she took something he said out of context (the fact that Carole often favours the underdogs which he referred to as charity cases caused her some upset). It soon blew over though and it seemed that these arguments were not ones that could be sustained for long.

Liam and Amy remained at arms length and her position in the house remains tenuous at best (and she damn well knows it, she reeks of desperation) while Jonty has slotted into the house in such a fashion you start to think he’s always been there, sat playing with his monkey and giggling a lot. I have to say, weird guy or not he’s strangely infectious and is rapidly becoming likeable. Kara Louise meanwhile might be another candidate to fall early but if she survives I suspect she’s so low key she’ll dodge the radar for a while yet.

This, it might be said is something of an idea friction free line up and its actually quite pleasant to watch at times. Maybe it’s the upturn in the weather conditions that has brought it about.

Under the hood though there are bigger changes afoot. Liam I suspect is no longer the golden boy he once was. His dalliance and subsequent freezing out of Amy might have cost him some votes, and his allegiance with Ziggy might not do him any favours either. Ziggy you see is currently all about repairing the damage done to his persona by Chiggygate while Liam was previously untouchable. Also Brian while still offering good value for money has lost his all star billing in the profile stakes. While the real star coming up through the ranks again is Tracey. She’s got back on the horse and buoyed by obvious public support is on good form, humorous and getting involved with the other housemates. There’s nothing sketchy about her current behaviour, could she be the one to sneak in and take the prize from under everyone’s noses…

Stay tuned!
