Post nomination tensions ran high tonight with even the most innocuous housemates getting pulled into the maelstrom. Of course the clash was a representation of the two warring factions of the house. Namely Richard and Sezer.

It all started innocently enough with the latest task involving the housemates becoming geeks who had to fulfil a number of nerdy tasks in order to secure themselves the following weeks luxury shopping budget.

Among the tasks set were trainspotting (watching model trains travel across the garden and noting their numbers at random intervals). Learning their times tables, while others had to learn Klingon (a nation of Trekkers salivated no doubt). All this while wearing tank tops, broken national health glasses and bad wigs. The transformation did seem to sit easily with a lot of them I hasten to add.

However with friction being the operative word with this bunch the status quo couldn’t last long. The root of the problem was caused as is usually the case with Big Brother arguments by the presence of alcohol. The housemates had been making their own hooch, Big Brother of course wasn’t too happy with the prospect of the health and safety issues that home made alcohol might imply. So BB arranged a trade off, bring them the gut rot and they would exchange it for some legitimate beer and wine offerings. By this point Sezer’s plastic fantastic mob were in bed leaving the remaining housemates (who by this point had sampled the aforementioned “hooch”) to keep the “real” booze for themselves.

This of course was always going to cause an upset and it was Sezer who got out of bed and went hunting for the alcohol and some answers as to why the rest of the house were prepared to hold out on the goods. Things were starting to look a little fractious. Now this little skit could have remained on the subject of alcohol but in fairness Richard shot himself in the foot by trying to change the subject on to one of personal relations within the house.

The real kick off however was instigated by none other than Mikey, formerly the quiet man of the house. He let rip that Richard had engaged in some name calling involving Imogen And here’s the best bit, he dragged Glyn previously the most innocent man in creation to the fore and used him as the spoon to stir the pot.

Clever.

With the fuse now lit Mikey retired to a safe distance and let Sezer step up to the plate and fight the battle for him. Now there’s a man who has demonstrated a hither unseen level of manipulative ability, you sir could be one to watch.

The plastic brigade quickly mounted an assault on Richard with Imogen backing up Sezer at the first opportunity. Richard held good ground for a while but was the combined might of Sezer and his erstwhile sidekick (who in fairness would never dream of stepping out of line without backup) took him down. By the end of the night Richard was convinced he was the bully in the situation, he had no true friends in the house and was even considering leaving (not another one surely, will someone please threaten to stay).

The interesting thing to note in the house dynamics tonight was Glyn’s involvement. Everyone has twigged him as the house innocent, his inexperience has become not only a focal point for tonight’s events but has also made him a figure of fun. Sezer and Mikey’s line of questioning when they asked him if he would sleep with Lea was purely for the sake of piss taking and he was the tool (and I use my wording carefully there) who was unwittingly used to start off the argument properly (he had apparently overheard the negative comments about Imogen).

Clearly he was uncomfortable with the conflict and what happened has suddenly moved him out of neutral status and loosely allied with the plastic camp. If only because his relationship with Richard has now been soured.

As it stands public feeling for the eviction is running hot with Sezer being the favourite to get the boot in Friday’s eviction. Many betting establishments are now only taking bets on the percentage by which Sezer will get the eviction vote. However if Richard walks first it might just save him from what many are now seeing as an inevitable exit.

Pete meanwhile was the only figure of consistency, his dislike of bullying has proved to be another of his endearing qualities and it could be another factor which could see him safely through to the final rounds at the very least.

The nation (or those of us watching) waits.
