This weekend sees the Daylight festival playing host to Magic Greenery (Saturday 12:15pm). Little slices of exquisite gentility with some wry lyrics (try ‘Itchy Feet’ with its lyrical waxings on such subjects as the maintenance practices of police helicopters). Jules and Hannah share vocal duties which brings a nice sense of contrast to their music, rooted in folk the surroundings and acoustic qualities of the Chapel should highlight their talents to great effect. In their own words Jules and Hannah have come full circle musically, their musical collaborations date back almost twenty years including their recording projects Bandwagon and Astrolab.

Those who like their music of a more Bluegrass persuasion will find themselves in for a treat because at 1pm Norton Money take to the stage. Lighthearted tracks such as ‘Lethargic Hoe Down’ barrel along sustained on railroad rhythms even the toughest audience couldn’t help but find tracks like this compelling. Capable of interspersing melancholy with homespun party starters as always with Daylight’s offerings this should prove to be a bit special. Nip along, as always it won’t cost you a bean.
