Kicking off the week with Wiley’s Wearing My Rolex that is out on digital on the 28th with a physical release on May 5th. This is going to be a track to divide opinion. Stark electro house plays a backdrop to Wiley’s urban offerings. Plenty of off kilter bass to shore up an expansive bottom end, punctuated with simple but strident punchy percussion. You’ll hear no complaints from these quarters with this one and there is going to be mixes a plenty to keep you happy, listeners to Annie Mac’s Mashup show will already have heard The Shoes recut which is a guaranteed floor filler. What a blinding way to start the week.

Out today meanwhile is Jack Johnson’s latest single Hope, in it’s original incarnation this did bugger all for me but salvation comes in the form of a Nightmares on Wax remix which nips around the back and skanks up proceedings nicely giving the song a little touch of early 70’s Trojan, in this form it’s worthy of your time but make sure you accept no substitutes.

Elsewhere Morrissey will be releasing All You Need Is Me on May 19th (Decca/Polydor) one of the new recordings taken from his recent greatest hits retrospective. Expect new songs My Dearest Love and Children In Pieces as well as a cover of Bowie’s Drive In Saturday as exclusive flipsides. Moz has also been confirmed as a headliner at London’s Wireless festival in Hyde Park that will be his only UK date this summer. He has chosen The New York Dolls, The Courteeners, Black Kids, Siouxsie Sioux, Guillemots, Dirty Pretty Things and The Wombats and Noise Is The Best Revenge as his guests for the gig.
