As the week gets under way properly (Monday’s don’t count) we’ve got some little bits and bytes of news for you. Starting with up and coming nu folk singer Alessi’s Ark who is involved in an exclusive competition with global photography website Lomography.com.

Essentially the huge database of photographers at Lomography have been given exclusive access to music from Alessi’s as yet unreleased album. In exchange the photographers use this music to inspire their work to create photographs that in some way reflect the lyrics and imagery that Alessi uses in her songs.

You can have a look for yourself at the links below. The best entries will be included into an exclusive music video. And the overall winner will be able to get their hands on a stash of camera related stuff.

Also out this week is the new single from Canadian rockers Simple Plan entitled ‘Save You’

It was penned in tribute to lead singer Pierre Bouvier’s brother Jay, who was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma cancer at the age of 28.  Thankfully now in remission, Bouvier’s illness inspired the band to include cancer awareness as one of the initiatives of the Simple Plan Foundation.  All proceeds from this single go to cancer charities around the world.
Regular readers to 020magzine will be aware that Wiley already has his new single ‘Ca$h In My Pocket’ out now. The video features bunch of bank workers being…well…bankers. Singing along to the lyrics of the song in a manner that only white middle class people could. However if you reckon your office space could do better then by all means have a go. If you follow the link below you could find yourself on the receiving end of a grand which would be a nice chunk of spends for the festive season. The closing date is December 8th. So what are you waiting for?
