Mini Viva return with their new single ‘One Touch’ on May 10th. If you’re anything over thirteen years of age this is probably not going to strike any distinctive chords with you. Unless perhaps you like going to cheesy clubs, getting shitfaced before leaving with a questionable man/woman and losing your weekend to an unsavory encounter which will leave you waking early in the morning with the reek of regret and kebab meat all over your face.

But I digress the production on this is fairly punchy, there’s a cheeky lift of the ancient house classic ‘Love Can’t Turn Around’ which is framed against a frothy effervescent but ultimately vapid pop backdrop (it was never going to be rocket science was it). Apparently it’s a track that you listen to when you’re getting ready for a night on the town with the girls.

I’m not a girl. Maybe if i was I would feel differently about this song. Or maybe I would be a bitter old hag. We’ll never know. Anyway, there is a tour coming up as well you can find the details on their site (link below)

Sarah Blasko meanwhile releases her new single ‘All I Want’ on May 3rd, her previous outings have so far been impressive so I’m delighted to report that Blasko doesn’t put a foot wrong with this single. A mournful little ditty with Blasko’s husky earthy tones draped seductively over a spectral backdrop that blends minimal acoustic guitar and restrained pensive strings. Once again I’m charmed, lovely stuff. Sarah has some dates coming up including supporting The Temper Trap on their UK tour in April and May. She will also be taking to the Mojo stage at The Great Escape. Recommended.
