Last night, I was lucky enough to make it to the New Wimbledon Theatre’s production of Our House, a very loud and exciting affair which created tremendous energy throughout the venue with colourful costumes, non-stop dancing to a never ending stream of Madness songs.

The show, from Tim Firth, the writer of Calendar Girls and directed by Lord of the Rings’ Mattew Warchus, centres on the life choices of a chap by the name of Joe Casey of Camden, NW1, who falls into a bit of bother with the local constabulary.

Watch how one of Joe’s particular choices changes his life in this very original production which is definitely worth a viewing even if it is just to hear some of those classic 80s tunes from Madness.

An exceptionally talented dancing cast choreography by Billy Elliot’s Peter Darling will have even the oldest of you jogging your head from side to side as well as laughing and crying, nothing more, nothing less – Our House did impress.

Our House is playing at the New Wimbledon Theatre from now until Saturday, September 13, 2008 so pull up those baggy trousers and don your Doc Martens and shuffle off to SW19.
