Kicking off this week’s singles is the new release by Ironik’s underground internet hit ‘Stay With Me’ which is out on June 23rd (digital) and June 30th (physical) through Asylum, the label which is responsible for the recent Wiley smash ‘Wearing My Rolex’ sadly while Wiley’s track was something of a zeitgeist surfing moment this sadly coasts in on a wave of blandness two miles thick. An uninspired release with a ‘chipmunk’ vocal that has you reaching for the Nurofen about one minute in. Thumbs down.

Next up is the intriguingly titled Eliza Doolittle with her single ‘Piano Song’. A lazy little number that is buoyed aloft by Eliza’s surprisingly mature vocal talents (she’s only nineteen). She looks back to the talents of Bacharach for inspiration and it works bringing you a cheeky little slow burning number for the summer months that is steeped in some pleasing little “very old” school sensibilities. Nice.

She’s got a fair bit going on in the gigging stakes as well. Catch her live in London at the following places…

21st June Goeth Institute London
25th June Bloomsbury Ballroom London (supporting Sam Sparro)
27th June Glastonbury
3rd July Yoyo;s @ Notting Hill Arts Club London
19th July Neverland @ The Monarch, Chalk Farm London
