Its that time of the week again. The housemates are voting in the belief that one of their number will get their marching orders on Friday. Little do they know however that someone is going to be taking a walk, but not as far as they think.

Down to business…

Aisleyn voted Lea and Nikki
Glyn voted Richard and Aisleyn
Imogen voted Richard and Susie
Lea voted Aisleyn and Susie
Mikey voted Richard and Susie
Nikki voted Aisleyn and Susie
Pete voted Susie and Aisleyn
Richard voted Imogen and Aisleyn
Susie voted Nikki and Imogen

In a generally quiet week there was something of a sea change in the voting. Aisleyn finally got caught on radar and it seemed like everyone had an axe to grind with her (although usually for the most meager of reasons). While Susie’s status as the house elder and least likely candidate to be caught necking cider at a party finally caught up with her.

Aisleyn was pretty much the victim of house paranoia. Her new found friendship with Imogen has led to the two of them having long chats in the bathroom, usually with Nikki listening at the door. Their tendency to talk in private seems to have had a detrimental effect on Aisleyn in the popularity stakes.

Meanwhile Susie’s attitude towards Glyn when he was redecorating the house with his vomit this week is pretty much what shot her in the foot. Sure Glyn was pissed, but Glyn is young. Like it or not young people sometimes drink to excess. A little empathy from those old enough to know better goes a long way rather than treating the guy like he was something from The Exorcist. Judging by Susie’s expression throughout the day I suspect she knew that she might the housemates choice to for eviction (even though nobody is going).

As far as weeks go this one has been fairly uneventful. The bitching you can imagine must be pretty intensive if you are there, but the dilution the viewer catches through television has a tendency to rob such behaviour of its impact.

The fact of the matter is things have settled down into a rhythm. Be friendly, stab someone in the back, wait for someone to re-enter room, be friendly. In real terms even Nikki has enjoyed a quiet week so far. As for last week’s choice of evictee I still think the wrong one was picked. Lisa’s temper made for interesting viewing while Imogen the survivor has all the personality of a beige flared lapel.

The real question now is what should be the next move by the viewer. The “evictee” gets moved to a secret house next door, but who should it be? I suspect if Susie gets to stay in the “real” house, the younger element will try and unseat her again next week. Whereas Aisleyn could quite easily turn things around for herself simply by reintegrating into the rest of the group.

For now nobody seems interested in voting for Nikki because the girl has a Teflon like ability to avoid eviction and in my eyes is starting to look like potential winning material. Mainly because Pete is rapidly slowing down and Glyn is starting to show he isn’t quite as wide eyed and innocent as he was originally portrayed.

It would seem the “shake things up” scenario has turned up at the right time. The house was in a little danger of becoming a little bland in the viewing stakes. Hopefully Friday will put an end to all that.
