Xtravagant take over Carling Academy Islington every Saturday with a
unique urban unification of the most sought after DJs, exclusive
artists and upfront Hip Hop and R&B for a sophisticated clientele.
DJs including Matt White, Shortee Blitz and Manny Norte will supply a
blend of the freshest R&B, rap and reggaeton, a fusion of Latin,
Reggae and Hip Hop.
Matt White: Current Head of Urban Music at Polydor Records, DJ Matt
White has certainly come a long way, constantly maintaining his
reputation as the UK’s leading urban DJ! From very humble beginnings in
a London record shop, recommending the latest sounds for the likes of
Trevor Nelson, Gilles Peterson & Norman Jay, Matt has progressed to
receiving consistent Mobo Award nominations (for Best Club & Best
Radio DJ), is responsible for bringing the likes of Eminem, Black Eyed
Peas & Ms Dynamite into the UK limelight & counts Mariah Carey,
Mary J Blige & Eminem as just some of his celebrity fans!
Shortee Blitz: Kiss FM resident DJ, Shortee Blitz, has earned himself a
storming reputation as Hip Hop’s Number One! His played alongside the
very best & taken his talents as far afield as Dubai, Hong Kong and
Australia!
Firin’ Squad: Fellow Kiss FM residents, Firin’ Squad finally emerged
from the UK underground urban scene after a decade! Renowned for their
live shows, they’ve previously been joined onstage by Missy Elliott, P.
Diddy and Jay-Z.
