Following on from her recent sensational UK dates, including a sold-out headlining gig at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Sunday, Janelle Monáe is set to return to the UK in 2011 for five more headline shows “ablaze with energy and ideas, the whip crack discipline of James Brown and the acid-rock wildness of Funkadelia” (Guardian). The five headlining UK dates have been announced for February & March including a London Roundhouse date (all dates below):

Janelle Monáe has been nominated for TWO GRAMMY AWARDS: Best Urban/Alternative Performance for ‘Tightrope’ and Best Contemporary R&B Album for ‘The ArchAndroid’.
Janelle Monáe’s current album ‘The ArchAndroid’ has also topped numerous UK ‘end of year polls, with Mojo, Q, Uncut, Word, Clash and Drowned in Sound all rating it high in their ‘Top 50 Albums of 2010’ round-ups, with Mojo making the single ‘Tightrope’ their ‘Single of 2010’.
