The Joy Formidable reveal a first taste of their forthcoming album with a new single, ‘I Don’t Want To See You Like This’ on October 11th. The release is the first for new label Canvasback Music / Atlantic Records, who signed the band at their office in New York City following a third successful Stateside tour. Having released their debut mini album, ‘A Balloon Called Moaning’ and a succession of acclaimed singles via their own label, The Joy Formidable now find themselves at the forefront of critic’s radars on both sides of the Atlantic.

Whilst in the US, the band worked with producer Rich Costey on tracks for their debut album, due early 2011. Over the summer the trio have made their live debut in Australia and played festivals across Europe before returning to the UK for slots on the NME / Radio One Stage at Reading and Leeds. This will be followed by The Joy Formidable’s headline shows as part of the NME Radar Tour across the UK. Already the possessors of a fearsome live reputation, this continual widening of horizons has seen the band scale new heights in front of delighted audiences.
