Tiësto releases his new single ‘Who Wants To Be Alone’ featuring global superstar Nelly Furtado on 8th March through his own label, Musical Freedom, the third single to be taken from his fourth studio album ‘Kaleidoscope’.

When Nelly Furtado attended the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2008 with her producer Timbaland she was so blown away by Tiësto’s performance that she instantly agreed to record a track with him. On Tiësto, Furtado says, “”Tiësto’s charm and brilliance goes way beyond dance music. His live shows have an ability to initiate the sublime. He manages to create compassionate soundscapes that instigate the body to move and the heart to feel-a hybrid only Tiësto, with all of his inner radiance, could manage.” Shortly there after, Nelly sent Tiësto a demo of a song that would become the first massive pop-dance crossover record of 2010, ‘Who Wants To Be Alone’, which Nelly says, “is about not wanting a magical evening out to ever end.”

Bringing together two of the most talented and enduring recording artists in the world from two very different genres can be precarious and exciting in equal measure. But when you consider that Tiësto and Nelly have always been pushing the boundaries of what pop and dance music can be, it’s no surprise that ‘Who Wants To Be Alone’ is a sultry exercise in assured and life affirming electronic pop music.

Indeed, Nelly and Tijs are no strangers to mixing it up: Take Tiësto’s latest long player ‘Kaleidoscope’: It features collaborations with some of the most credible names in Indie (Kele Okereke from Bloc Party, Emily Haines from Metric) Dance (Calvin Harris), Pop (Tegan and Sara) and Jónsi from Icelandic post rock outfit Sigur Rós. Nelly’s career, meanwhile, has seen her experiment with genres, sounds and languages, from her hip hop roots to her Portuguese language records to her RnB smash ‘Maneater’, all the while evolving into the multi Grammy award winning, multi million album-selling (22 million and counting) and multi talented global super star she is today!

Furthermore, to coincide with this release Tiësto will be bringing his Spectacular ‘Kaleidoscope’ tour to the UK, promising to be one of the most extravagant tours that the UK has ever seen. These shows are no-holds-barred, off the wall productions hosted by the world’s premiere electronic artist. In fact, they don’t exceed expectations so much as blow them wide open.
