Positiva are proud to be releasing HonoRebel’s single, ‘Now You See It’. Joining the Jamaican-born dancehall artist on this release are Chicago-based DJ’s the Jump Smokers and the mighty Pitbull. You’ll remember Pitbull from his smash ‘I Know You Want Me’ (also on Positiva), which went to No.4 in the UK charts and could be heard blaring out of car stereos all summer long. The follow up “Hotel Room Service” recently hit the top 10 and features Nicole Scherzinger from Pussycat Dolls.

‘Now You See It’ is an Electro Club banger of the highest magnitude. HonoRebel’s and Pitbull’s party charged lyrics are powered by a raw energy that will get any dancefloor moving. The single features production from rising underground stars the Jump Smokers, who also embellish the record with their trademark vocals. Remixes come courtesy of Afrojack (Tribal House), Benny Benassi (Electro House), Robbie Rivera (House), and Blockhe4d (Drum & Bass).

It’s apparent in today’s music industry that pundits of all shapes and sizes like to put artists in a box. With all this labeling and defining of a musician’s music, it’s often a bit of a breakthrough when an artist that’s impossible to categorize arrives. In walks HonoRebel.

Born in the ghettos of Kingston, Jamaica, HonoRebel, has shared the stage with some of Jamaica’s biggest dancehall acts. He launched his musical career in the late 90’s and soon found himself collaborating with reggae legends such as Sly & Robbie. Not long after he started infusing Hip-Hop Beats with producers like Scott Storch. As HonoRebel flirted with various styles to fit his lyrical delivery, it was inevitable that his music would quickly morph. This ranged from Roots/Dancehall to Hip-Hop and Techno to Pop. As HonoRebel began to widen his musical catalogue so did his mainstream appeal.

Unable to label him as just a traditional reggae singer, HonoRebel was quickly initiated as a cross-over artist. HonoRebel explains, “I’m not afraid to experiment with different genre of music. Reggae Music is my foundation, but I feel my creativity transcends beyond that. You can throw me into Hip-Hop, Soca, Latin, Dance, Classical, whatever and I’ll deliver.”
