It was Shirley Bassey who once sang about ‘history repeating’ and as her dulcet caterwauling reached our ears the world as a whole cringed a little. However never let it be said that having a look at things of historical virtue is a bad thing. Welcome to The Secret Season…

Tunnellers: Tunnellers work hundreds of feet down, where it is dark, damp and dangerous, challenging nature’s awesome forces to drive tunnels through solid rock and sinking mud. They drill and blast, bore, mine, and muck. Tragically many tunnellers have been injured in the process, but ultimately theirs is a story of triumph and survival.

Premiered Thursday 15th January 9 p.m. (every Thursday at 9 p.m.)

Cities Of The Underworld:
Below the familiar surfaces of skyscrapers, taxis and street vendors, lies a forgotten world deep below the ground – great metropolises, sometimes entire cities, each with its own fascinating and unknown history. As part of The Secret Season, Don Wildman explores the secrets beneath our city streets – ancient cisterns, dank dungeons, eerie tombs, clandestine hideouts, and even underground shipwrecks that have been lost for hundreds of years, buried deep below the surface.

Premiered Friday 16th January 9 p.m. (every Friday at 9 p.m.)

Dinosaur Secrets:
This series examines the ultimate fighters of the prehistoric world. Some dinosaurs were larger than seven-story buildings, and hunted their prey with strategy and cunning.  Travel back in time to the pre-historic era and unearth the world’s first serial killers.  Watch as deadly dinosaur confrontations are dramatically brought to life and gain remarkable insight into the psychology and physiology of these ancient beasts.

Premiered Wednesday 21st January 9 p.m. (every Wednesday at 9 p.m.)
