Out right now is the new single by The King Blues. Imagine if you will a high octane romp which seems to scoop its frames of reference from…well absolutely loads of stuff actually. ‘Let’s Hang The Landlord’ seems to breathe in influences from The Clash, The Pogues maybe a smidgin of Thin Lizzy and a healthy dose of rumbling pub rock. Celebratory and at the same time caustic in its lyrical delivery, I can’t help but feel that somewhere along the line I have encountered this single before, but then again its influencing factors could simply be that strong. All the same, its fine stuff and well worth checking out. As it precedes an as yet untitled album due for release in October.
