Long term visitors to 020.com will be aware that we provide coverage for The Union Chapel’s Daylight festival. Well, the return of lighter nights and the onset of summer (here’s hoping) signals Daylight’s return. The chance as always to start your weekend with a host of musical discoveries over the summer in the Chapel’s beautiful surroundings.
The dates came in a little late for me to give you a proper heads up for this weeks show but staring next week I’ll be having a little look at the performers who will be showcasing their talents over the coming weeks.
Playing this weekend however (April 5th) is Steven Finn described as a ‘rare find’ and being a repository of ‘thought provoking lyrics and haunting far reaching vocals’ Steven has already played concerts with Elvis Costello, The Beautiful South amongst others. His debut album ‘Houdini’s Blues’ will be available from April. Steven takes to the stage at 12:15pm

Following at 1pm Ana Silvera, a singer and songwriter hailing from London. Soloing with English National Opera by her teens, Ana set about defining a unique song-writing style of the lush, tender, waltzy order – think Jacques Brel in English with fewer Gauloises, plus a pinch of Regina Spektor and Leonard Cohen thrown in for good measure. She also plays the guitar and is accompanied on the double bass and cello by Jon Cottle

If you can get along to the Chapel, you can enjoy the shows as always for the princely sum of nothing. Enjoy!
