I confess I wasn’t too enamoured with Common’s album when I was sent a copy for review a while ago. Despite the good graces that it has found in the eyes of others at the time it just didn’t seem to cut the mustard with me. Maybe I need to reappraise the content at some point because the single ‘Drivin’ Me Wild’ with Lily Allen has well and truly got under my skin. Already getting heavy rotation on the radio, it’s a nice combination of Lily caught in an angelic vocal loop while Common delivers a seasoned rap underneath her sound. Lilting and gentle this one actually has unavoidable hit stamped through it like a stick of rock.
