Friday 14th September sees The Marleybone trio playing continuing the Daylight run at the Union Chapel. Taking to the stage at 12:30pm.The Marylebone Trio was formed in 2003 by postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music. Since then the Trio has made a name for itself across the UK, promoting the opening of a new railway line at London’s Marylebone Station, playing for Marks & Spencers’ 75th Birthday in its flagship store, and entertaining guests at a summer garden party in the presence of HRH Prince Edward. The Trio has impressed audiences with its imaginative and sensitive playing at festivals in Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick, and have given recitals at the National Portrait Gallery, University College London, Open University, London School of Economics, and in Hertfordshire and London churches. Future engagements include recitals at the Deal Festival and the Isle of Wight’s Quay Arts Centre, which has never before hosted a classical music concert. The Trio also enjoys playing on board cruise ships: they have travelled to the Baltics, Russia and the Norwegian Fjords, and have been invited back to perform on cruises round Australia, Asia, North Africa and Spain in 2008. The Trio is also available to provide stylish musical entertainment for weddings, garden parties and soirees. Saturday 15th September at 12:15 brings Robin Grey to the Chapel bringing his gentle acoustic blend to proceedings. If you haven’t had the chance check out his songs on his myspace profile for a taster of what the man has to offer. Inspired by the music of Cohen and Bod Dylan and Paul Simon his influences are clear but all provided in his own distinct vocal style.
