Daylight is a unique new performance platform for both up and coming
and already established musicians. Conceived and presented by the
Union Chapel its aim is to provide a showcase for the development of
musical talent.

Established musicians will be able to broaden their public profile and
experiment with new musical forms and material. Up and coming
musicians will get the chance to cut their teeth at one of London’s
top music venues and work together with well known artists.

In the current climate of self promotion, through mediums such as
Myspace, these showcase events will enable musicians to reach out to
new audiences, helping them to develop their careers and empowering
them as independent artists.

Daylight will provide London with a new and exiting way to listen to
music completely free of charge. Daylight will counteract the
commercialisation of music by implementing a system by which the
currency that is traded is music alone. No money changes hands, the
concerts are free and accessible to all.

Daylight will kick start London’s daytime music scene by offering a
unique format for the presentation of music. The concerts will
showcase a wide range of musical genres including contemporary
acoustic, electronica, chill out and classical. This combination of
musical genres mixed with the high gothic naturally chilled
environment of the Union Chapel will lend the concerts a very special
quality.

Confirmed artists so far include: Tim Arnold, Dollboy, Boomclick Sound
System, Eva Abraham, Mixmaster Morris (The Irresistible Force), Anne
Garner, and The Arctic Circle.

The programme will run for two seasons, March –June 07 and Sept
–December 07 every Tuesday and Friday (12.30pm-2.00pm) and the first
Saturday of the month between 12 noon -2pm.

Entrance to the concerts is free. Refreshments will be on offer.

First up on March 3rd will be Tim Arnold (with band) offering slices of lyrically rich material of an acoustic flavour. Gentle and melancholy pieces with delicate lyrics and concise vocals. Examples of which can be found for your delectation on his site and myspace page. Already attracting praise from the likes of Q, NME and Rocksound. Judging by the material on offer this marks an illustrious beginning for the Daylight festival. For Tim it represents the chance to give listeners a preview of his new album ‘Another World’ which will be released in the summer incidentally it will also be a dual release in both English and Spanish languages.
