Peski Records the ones who brought us the sublime electronic delights of Evils return with Radio Luxembourg’s new EP ‘Diwrnod efo’r Anifeiliaid’. Straight out of Aberystwyth (did the title give it away) this could be the first rays of summer shining down on us in a suitably cheeky pop vein. There’s something delightfully easy going about this EP with its mixture of English/Welsh vocals rolling out across a series of raggedy almost rag time offerings. Five good natured songs that in places embrace the choral backdrop of their homeland while in others come on a little like The Sparks in short trousers. Its lightly armoured pop with a smile and a wink and maybe I don’t speak Welsh but in terms of what is on offer here it doesn’t really seem to matter that much.

Already championed by the likes of Marc Riley on 6Music and about to start recording an album as soon as time allows this could be your quirky purchase of the week when it arrives on March 19th . Not convinced well there’s also a live London date at the Institute of Contemporary Arts on the 28th Feb as a precursor to the release.
