Bloody hell, what is it with P. Diddy these days. There’s an alarming consistency to his singles of late and this one doesn’t do too much to upset the formula. Following on from the success of his previous outing with Christina Aguilera this time Diddy teams up with Keyshia Cole to offer a somewhat more Eurocentric take on RnB with his new single ‘Last Night’. Thickset beats crack away in the background while Diddy takes something of a backseat leaving Cole to throw warbly shapes at the front. It works as well with its chimey synths all over the shop and has a distinctively eighties feel. The vocal edit drops out a bit short leaving the listener perhaps a tad unsatisfied but the extended dub mix more than makes up for it in this instance and shows of the sweet production in its best light. The real exciter for this one though is the prospect of mixes for DFA, you’ve been warned.

Out on 15th March on Bad Boy Records expect this one to be on heavy rotation…ooh about now. Also coming up is a headline tour to compliment the release with a show at Wembley Arena on the 27th March.
