Another year, another import from Sweden, and as is the case with so much of their musical output over the last few years this is actually pretty damn good. Described as an electronic punk five piece I wouldn’t necessarily agree with that description but nonetheless the sound they make on their new single Tony The Beat is certainly one to make you sit up and take notice. Ultra clean and simple synth lines lay over the top of some early eighties (almost) pub rock guitar and a vocal delivery that has that “I don’t give fuck” relaxed attitude which makes their upcoming single such a winning prospect.

It drifts just the right of the cheese barrier flirting with a synth pop melody that comes wandering in from the dawn of the modern pop age. Yet thankfully the brooding synth bass and the added punch of the guitars drag it by the scruff of the neck back into cool territory. Not often I agree with the NME these days, what with me being an old fart and all but 2007 could be their year in the sun. Watch out for an album “Dying To Meet You” on March 19th with the single preceding it on February 26th.
