BBC RADIO 1’S ROB DA BANK, CURATOR OF THE AWARD WINNING BESTIVAL FESTIVAL, ANNOUNCES BESTIVAL’S SUNDAY NIGHT HEADLINE THE SCISSOR SISTERS PLUS A HOST OF MARVELLOUS ACTS INCLUDING THE MYSTERY JETS, HOT CHIP AND JOHN MARTYN

Well, the rumour wheel has been rolling fast as news of our second headliner has been creating one hell of a buzz. And yes, its true the mighty Scissor Sisters are headlining our three day extravaganza this September taking the stage on Sunday night to round off our festival of joy! This will be a very special performance as it is their only confirmed UK date this summer and we may get a sneak preview of some of their new material from their new album due out in November.

Alongside the legendary Pet Shop Boys who headline Saturday night, the Scissor Sisters will be the grand finale on the main stage of what will be one of the greatest ends to the festival season. Rob da Bank has been beavering away to ensure this year’s Bestival is the best ever – with even more great bands, top DJs, strange happenings, exclusive arenas and boutique festival fun to keep you buzzing all weekend.

Scissor Sisters
The Scissor Sisters shot to fame over an incredibly short period of time. They performed not one but two amazing sets at Glastonbury 2004 have been crowned with numerous awards the world over. Set to release their second album in November 2006 this is their only confirmed UK summer date and we at Bestival are very very excited to see what they have in store for us as their shows are always unique, always spectacular, always special.

Mystery Jets
The hottest UK indie act about line up for a Friday main stage mash up. The happy family, psychedelia, prog rock and pop extraordinaire roadshow is gonna blow the Isle Of Wight away as they revisit their amazing Making Dens LP and play some new stuff. Yeah!

Hot Chip
Three years on the trot for the electronic wizards at Bestival – we can’t get enough of them!

John Martyn
Rob da Bank finally manages to bribe the folk, rock and blues hero to come over from Ireland. If you’ve never heard it, his 1973 LP Solid Air is one of the most amazing records ever made… From the man who was mates with Jimi Hendrix, Nick Drake and Lee Scratch Perry to name a few!

Nizlopi
The Christmas number one duo excite with their acoustic hip hop and honest vocals. It’s not all about the JCB!

Zane Lowe’s band that he started with Hamish Clark in New Zealand back in the late nineties.

This genius one-man band returns for his second year at Bestival
